She felt so uncertain
Her worry it grew so deep
She tried to dig above the dirt
But her roots were so stiff
The dry earth it crushed her
She felt the darkness surrounding her
No one said words
The secrets remained untold
But whispers all around
Like the rustle of leaves dead or old
No one would say
How one should be watered
Or how one should grow
But when the drought came
They were left to bare
The suffering of a challenging growth
Just hang in there they said
Time would tell its story
But what she was lacking
Was assurance of life worth living
