No one sees it no one knows
Behind her smile the fire that grows
It’s burning her so deep inside
Her heart turned to ashes she’s losing her stride
The more that life healed
The more her head would feel
Pain she felt familiar from before
Pain rushing in through the door
She tried so hard to shut it out
Locked it deep threw the key out
She screamed so loud but no one could hear
Her cry for help beneath her tears
How much longer would this last
Of what she really felt would it come to pass
She couldn’t show what it really was
But felt it crushing and sinking her into the floor
They said one step was better than none
So one step she took to finish the run
And in the end when all was done
Would they understand ‘goodbye’ had won
